Our day boats are the perfect place to start if you’ve never been boating before.
Available from 09.30 until 17.30, you and your friends, family or colleagues will receive full tuition on how to handle the boat, and operate locks before heading down towards Guildford to enjoy your day on the River Wey.
Our purpose-built day boats are ideal for entertaining.
Each boat can accommodate a maximum of ten people.
The facilities on board include seating both inside and out, hot and cold running water and a toilet compartment.
There is a two-ring gas hob and small fridge to keep your drinks cool, although we do recommend you bring cool boxes.
We provide a kettle, toilet paper, 1 cloth, matches, small hand soap, bin bag, and a bottle opener.
Please feel free to bring additional inventory with you as required.
Buoyancy aids can be provided free of charge.
In our opinion, the Godalming to Guildford stretch of river is the prettiest on the Wey, although we could be biased. The open meadows and fields with grazing cattle, the swans, ducks and geese you’ll find along your way, and deer as well as all manner of native wildlife await you. Guildford Meadow is the perfect pausing place for lunch at either one of the many restaurants or pubs within easy walking distance, or perhaps a picnic on the boat whilst enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
From Guildford Meadow, it will take around two and a half hours to return to Farncombe Boat House. Depending on how lazy your lunch was, you may have time to head further downstream through Millmead lock, through the town centre, and past Dapdune Wharf to our furthest cruise point which is the Rowbarge Pub before turning and returning to the Boat House by 17.30 or dusk (depending on the time of year).
